Many
children in our country do not have identity documents because their
births have not been registered. This prevents them from accessing basic
services and other entitlements.
Addressinbg this problem, Save the Children is bringing birth registration to remote areas of Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
Since 2009, we have registered 45,267 children’s birth in Vidarbha with
the help of Children’s Groups, Child Protection Committee members,
School Management Committee members and Self Help Group members
The Birth Registration certificate will now help these children to
access basic services, including immunization, health care and school
enrolment at the right age.
